Wetfloor Showerroom (Nth Ferriby)
A wetfloor is a technical achievement. In a building designed to eliminate damp, we have to introduce a surface which is constantly inundated with water. The solution is to use a standard process called ‘tanking’. This creates a waterproof sub-floor pan which ensures no water or even moisture escapes. If this fails then the consequences are very serious indeed. As we are responsible for the whole process it is very much in our interest to ensure that the floor remains secure regardless of any claims manufacturers may make for their products. We have developed our own techniques which are basically to take the best two solutions on the market, and use them both.
This image shows a frameless sliding door to contain the spray from the shower. It is just a matter of preference how much to shield the shower as the whole floor is waterproof.
